Coastal Garden With A View
This garden sits high up on the hill above Palm Beach, with 180 degree views over Sydney's Northern Beaches. The challenging, exposed location and natural materials of the landscape heavily influences the materials palette selected for the project. Sandstone blocks were shaped by hand to form the retaining walls used to terrace the steep block. Stone crazy paving and European pine decking create the stairs and flooring in the back garden, as well as the surrounds of the infinity pool. Existing planting on the property was added to with the inclusion of hardy, coastal species such as Bromeliads, Gazania, Westringia, Rhaphiolepis and Alpinia.
